Things to Do in Salt Lake City

Visiting Salt Lake City is comparable to stumbling on a hidden gem. Unless you have been before, or you are a native, it is not a very well-known destination!

City Creek Center is a beautiful open-air shopping mall in the middle of downtown. The City Creek Center is a mixed development with an upscale open-air shopping center, office, and residential buildings, fountain, and simulated creek. It offers a mix of luxury retailers, unique-to-market stores, and trusted brands. Who doesn’t love shopping? Right now, this location offers limited hours due to the pandemic, so be sure to check out their website to stay up to date.

Less than a 10-minute drive outside of the city center, Ensign Peak is a short (0.9-mile out-and-back) trail that lets you see panoramic views of the city. One can take gorgeous and breathtaking pictures of the surrounding mountains and Salt Lake.

Manoli’s is a newer restaurant in SLC. It’s Greek, however not in your usual gigantic gyro sandwich and fries kind-of-way. We’re talking upscale, sophisticated Greek, with intricate, delicately plated meze meant for sharing. Delicious! If you visit, don’t leave without saving room for dessert! Right now, their location is closed, but be sure to visit their website to find out more about take-out and delivery.

If you are a coffee drinker, then this next tip is for you. Eva’s Bakery is a quaint, French-inspired bakery and breakfast place, located on Main Street. Beyond the food, pastries, and bread, they serve up pretty good coffee, too. If you are in the area, this coffee shop is a must.

Enjoy!

Although not a typical place one usually thinks about visiting, Salt Lake City has a distinct flavor, while at the same time providing a little something for everyone. If you love the outdoors and nature, coming for the panoramic views is enough reason!
