Go Green in Your Salt Lake City Apartments

Are you searching for a great way to change the world without even leaving your Salt Lake City apartments? Something you should consider doing is going green and making little changes here and there in your routine to assure that you are doing what you can to be environmentally friendly. If you’ve always been passionate about reducing your carbon footprint but just didn’t know how to get started, worry not! Below is a small list of tips you can follow in order to make the most out of your living situation in Salt Lake City and do the most you can for the earth!

1. Make an effort not to make so much trash. This means to use real dishware instead of paper and plastic plates, forks, and spoons. It means being cognizant of how much toilet paper and tissue paper you go through every day. It means using dishtowels you can rewash instead of paper towels to keep the house clean.
2. Another fun way to go green is to get some small pots and begin to grow your own herbs, seasoning, and veggies in your house. This is relatively easy- something you can simply do some research on online or in-person at Home Depot or Lowe’s for you to have these things ready on demand to reduce gas by driving to the store. It’s also just fun and promotes healthy eating.
3. Use less water if possible, even if you cut your shower time by two minutes.
4. Be mindful of how much electricity you use.

The final two tips should help you out when it comes to saving some money on your utility bills. Can you think of other ways to go green in your apartments? Maybe all these tips seem overwhelming- so begin implementing them one at a time. It’s a great way to make a small difference in this world and do your part to help the environment!

Trim ends of zucchini. Using a spiralizer, cut zucchini into thin strands.
Mix cumin, 1/2 teaspoon salt, smoked paprika, pepper, and garlic powder; sprinkle generously onto both sides of tilapia. In a large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. In batches, cook tilapia until fish just begins to flake easily with a fork, 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from pan; keep warm. In the same pan, cook zucchini with garlic over medium-high heat until slightly softened, 1-2 minutes, tossing constantly with tongs (do not overcook). Sprinkle with remaining salt. Serve with tilapia and pico de gallo.
Editor’s Note: If a spiralizer is not available, zucchini may also be cut into ribbons using a vegetable peeler. Saute as directed, increasing the time as necessary.

Spring Cleaning Tips in Salt Lake City

Are you feeling extra productive this year and looking to carry that charged energy into spring? If the answer is yes, why not start off with the fun little routine of spring cleaning? Yes, giving your own apartments in Salt Lake City a deep clean is a wonderful way to transition from dreary winter to bountiful spring while also preparing your space to defend you from allergy attacks (if you’re prone to them).

For amazing tips on how to spring clean your apartments, click here. Here’s another tip worth knowing: although cleaning the bathroom and dusting and doing things like that are all commendable, it’s also definitely worth cleaning your technological devices that you use frequently, such as your laptop, remote, phone, etc. These objects can collect the same if not more bacteria than other things you’d think would be just as dirty.
